Here is a little about us. We have been racing for 49years now. We are a
family oriented team that consists of Tony, Dee, Bob, and Dan Saracino.
Bob's wife Sally, Bob's kids, Dawn, Bobbie Jo, and Shannon. Shannon's
daughter Hope. Bobbie Jo's daughter Donna Leigh.
There has been a couple different numbers on the race cars in the past
.
Here is how everything started.
Our first date was at a race track on June 12, 1951. Tony had been a race
car fan for years before that. When he took Dee to the track she was
hooked into racing. They got married on June 12, 1954 and Bob was born
in September 21 of 1955, then along came Dan on December 14 of 1956.
When they were about 6 and 5 years old, is when Tony and Dee  bought
their first quarter midgets in the winter of 1961, for them to race at
Doylestown, Oak Lane, Penndel, Pa. When they were about 11 and 12
years old, they got rid of the midgets and bought the first stock car. The
first car was bought in 1966 which was a 1937 ford sedan straight back
which was the number 9, which ran for about a total of 3 years.
Bill Beasley bought his first car which was a 1937 Chevy coupe numbered
34 which Tony and Dee maintained in their garage for 2 years. Then they
bought a back up P & H Diesel 1940 Ford Coupe with a big block 454,
which was kept until about 1980.
In 1981, the Saracino's then bought a car from Rick Thorn for Bob to start
his racing career for his rookie year. They changed a pinto into a gremlin
body. He ran his rookie year at Flemington, NJ where he finished 6th in the
point standings in his 12s car. This is when the Saracino Racing team
actually started.
Then they bought a 1980 Fisher copy with a Gremlin body from Wayne
Coffey in 1981 for Bob to finish his first season of racing with the number
27s on the car then was changed to 12s. The body was changed in 1984 into
a Fisher made body that Bob put together and put on the car. This car ran
until 1987 when Bob's racing career was over.
Then Tony and Dee bought an Olsen from Keith Kocker in 1986 which had
the number 142 already on it, which started the 142 race team. Fred Louch
was the driver for a couple months then Donny Krum, whom they have
known since the age of 12 and watched him grow up to become a race car
driver, drove the end of this season and for about 3 more years after that.
In 1993, Tony and Dee bought a car from the legendary Billy "the kid"
Pauch. The car was built and designed by himself. Donny Krum also drove
this 142 race car until about 1996.
In 1996 to 1998, Dan was touring with the World of Outlaws and had no
idea that his parents had bought another car until they ran into each other
at Syracuse NY at the races. Five months later Tony got hurt at work and
Dan came home to help take care of him and work on the new car.
From 1997-1999, Scott McClaren drove the 142 at New Egypt and East
Windsor, NJ. Scott drove the Pauch car until they bought the 1997 Bicknell
Chasis on February 14, 1997 when they drove to St. Catherine's, Canada to
buy this new car.
In 1999, Lee Taylor Jr, whom Tony and Dee also knew since he was 12
years old and become a driver as well, started driving the 142 until 2001.
The body was changed in 2001, which Ray Swinehart, from J&L speed
shop,  put on the car. In 2002 the car number was changed to 4, which Lee
still drove until the end of 2003 season.
The end of 2003, Shawn Reimert ran the 2004 Bicknell Chasis bought from
Randy Ross and a big block motor bought from Dave George, which was
ran at Delaware, Bridgeport NJ, Grandview PA, and Hagerstown MD.
Then February of 2005 Tony and Dee bought a second car from Randy
Ross for the small block motor which was number 44s which was changed
to the number 91. This car then became the primary car for the Grandview
track, which recently has been parked due to Bob's sight being lost to
diabetes and needs surgery to try to restore some of his sight and also
Tony's shoulder surgery that is both coming up shortly.
In 2006, Kevin Hirthler began driving the #91 big block at the season
opener in Hagerstown, MD where he won the heat and was running 3rd
most of the feature and was passed in turn 2 and finished 5th in the
feature. The second race at Hagerstown was canceled due to rain. The third
race on March 19 was ran by Kevin in his own small block modified. The
engine was supplied by Saracino Racing. Kevin started first in the heat and
finished first. In the feature, Kevin started third and moved back to the
fourth and fifth positions within a couple of laps. Soon, came Billy "the
kid" Pauch knocking on the door for the fifth position. Kevin gave him a
good run for his money for a couple of laps. Once Billy passed him, Kevin
was hit from behind and caused a flat tire, which then made Kevin restart
in the back of the field. With only less than 10 laps to go, Kevin came back
to finish in the 12th position. More information will be posted as the season
progresses. In the 2006 season we won the championship in Delaware
International Speedway in Delaware. In 2007 we had weekly Friday nights
at big diamonds we got 10th in points for the season in the 91. Weekly
shows at Grandview in the 74w finished 10th in points. Then on November
3rd and 4th we started 2nd and finished 2nd in the 50 lap big block feature.
